George Kakouris, Chairman
Born and raised in Coral Gables, George has served of Chairman of the Museum Board for six years.  Under his leadership, the Board has expanded the original scope of the Museum to integrate additional gallery spaces and a public plaza, creating a "campus" setting for the Museum.  George is a Senior Vice President with Wachovia Securities and has worked in the Financial Services industry for over 30 years. He resides in Coral Gables with his wife and two children.

Eduardo Hernandez, Esq., Vice-Chairman
Eduardo L. Hernandez is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Coral Gables Museum. Mr. Hernandez is an attorney practicing in Coral Gables and is involved with various civic organizations and the University of Miami. He resides in Coral Gables with his wife and three children.
Zeke Guilford, Esq., Treasurer

Jeannett Slesnick, Secretary

Jeannett is a real estate broker and owener of Slesnick and Associates, LLC, a real estate firm specializing in Coral Gables properties. She is widely known for her tireless commitment to community organizations and is currently the Chairman of the Coral Gables Community Foundation.

Susan Wills Amat

Susan Wills Amat is the founding executive director of the Enterprise Lab, the University of Miami entrepreneur and innovator resource center. Dr. Amat has founded several companies in the entertainment and health care industries and most recently a consulting company focused on sustainable product design. Born and raised in Coral Gables, she is proud to live in the City Beautiful with her husband and daughter.

 

Rhonda B. McNeal
A resident of Coral Gables, Rhonda is the Director of Special Events for Dade Christian School. She serves on a number of community boards and brings her event planning skills to the Museum Board.

Arva Moore Parks
Arva is a Miami native with a master’s degree in history. She has been researching and writing about South Florida for more than 35 years. She authored, co-authored, edited or contributed to more than a dozen books and documentaries and is a passionate historic preservationist. She held many leadership positions in that field including a presidential appointment to the Federal Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.
