Summer Sessions

Art in the Gables

Session 1: June 13-24

Professional artists led this artistic adventure. We visited local art museums, galleries, and design showrooms for inspiration. We learned about our city through close observation and creative expression. We drew and painted onsite at famous Coral Gables landmarks. We created our own masterpiece!

Around the World

Session 2: June 27-July 8(No camp on July 4th, tuition adjusted)

We explored the different countries that inspired our city! We toured the Coral Gables themed villages. We tasted the exotic food from local restaurants. We enjoyed special musical and dance performances. We created artwork inspired from faraway places. We celebrated the cultures that make our city beautiful.

Fantastic Parks

Session 3: July 11-22

Coral Gables is known for its many green spaces, parks and plazas. This summer, we visited them all for playtime and inspiration. You joined us for special field trips to Venetian Pool and the brand new South Pointe Park project on Miami Beach. Are some parks better designed than others? Which one was your favorite? We designed our ideal urban park.

Animal Madness!

Session 4: July 25 – August 5

Before Coral Gables became a city, it was a forest with lots of wild animals. We explored the difference between urban and rural environments with a field trip to a local farm. We met some of South Florida’s native creatures and farm animals, as well as the police dogs and house pets that have taken over the city. We sculpted our favorite animals.

Going Green

Session 5: August 8-19

You joined the Museum in fun, eco-friendly projects. We toured some of the new green building projects in downtown Coral Gables. We visited Miami’s biggest recycling plant. We learned how we can make a difference from home. We created beautiful art using reused materials. We partook in the Museum’s recycling relay race. We participated in a green bike ride. We helped save our planet!
