Tranquility Garden Tour

Celebrate the Year of the Dragon with the Historic Preservation Association of Coral Gables Tour "Tranquility Garden" in the The Chinese Village and learn about the Architecture of Henry Killam Murphy in Coral Gables

On Saturday, Feb. 25th, guests will visit the Chinese Village and the "Tranquility Garden" of the Werner family with historian Ellen Uguccioni as guide. The walking tour will highlight Chinese architectural motifs adapted for western residential enclaves.

The event is hosted by the Historic Preservation Association of Coral Gables. The mission of the Historic Preservation Association of Coral Gables is to promote the appreciation and importance of historic resources in Coral Gables and beyond.

The purpose of this particular event is to fund scholarships for students of Historic preservation.

Please park at the "Maggiore Park" and go to 5100 Maggiore to start tour and visit the "Tranquility Garden". Guided tours will be given every 30 minutes.

Tickets are $10 per person.

Refreshments (Tea and cookies) will be provided.

Spring Pedals: New Deal Projects

Join us for Spring Pedals, a series of fun, educational bicycle tours through The City Beautiful presented by the Coral Gables Museum and Bike/Walk Coral Gables.

Riders will receive a tour of the Museum exhibit Bringing Beauty Into Our Lives: Art and Architecture in Coral Gables During the New Deal, 1933-1941. Then, we will embark on a 7.5 mile bike tour to view the New Deal projects first-hand, starting at the Women's Club and ending at beautiful Matheson Hammock Park. These federally-funded projects continue to benefit our community.

All bike tours begin at 11am at the Coral Gables Museum. $10 per person; $5 for Museum members. Space is limited. Please RSVP to 305.603.8067.

Join us for Spring Pedals, a series of fun, educational bicycle tours through The City Beautiful presented by the Coral Gables Museum and Bike/Walk Coral Gables.

The Gables is probably best known for having the most impressive tree canopy in Miami-Dade. Join us for a ride down some of the greenest roads with arching branches and trunks as big as cars. Learn about rare and special trees from a knowledgeable tree expert. This five mile ride is leisurely with frequent stops. Great for nature picture takers.

Some of the most special features of the Gables are its street fountains and waterways. Come with us as we show you the hidden water-gems in our backyard. In addition you will see the network of canals that link to Biscayne Bay and experience, up close, one of the most beautiful swimming pools in the entire country - a true national treasure. Three miles with some walking - bring a bike lock.
