The Gingerbread entry is not to exceed 2 feet in width or 2 feet in depth, including the board used as a base. We suggest using ½” or ¾” plywood base for your entry. Bases may not be higher than 1½”.

Entries must be made primarily of gingerbread and will be judged in five categories:
• overall appearance
• originality/creativity

• precision
• consistency of theme

All rulings by the judges are independent and final and are in no way influenced by the Coral Gables Museum.

1. Any architectural structure, real or imaginary, is eligible for entry

2. All divisions must be of original design. Gingerbread kits are allowed in the Children’s category only.

3. All entries must have major components (such as walls and roofs) constructed of gingerbread (not graham crackers, cookies, etc.)

4. All components must be edible. Edible materials are not limited to sweets. No artificial display materials such as Styrofoam or interior lighting, are to be used in the construction of the house. Candies must be unwrapped and free of inedible material such as lollipop sticks.
